The creation of Artisans Market and this Website truly were meant to be. In the beginning, the vision was not as grand, but a closely related series of events led all of us involved to a door we could not help but walk through.

I have always been inspired by the many talented artisans I know and have known, and wanted to bring these people together in one place to create a wonderful and exotic atmosphere filled with beautifully crafted items. I imagined a place where artists would be able to step away from some of the business aspects of selling their art and feel free to spend their time creating instead of struggling to find affordable and effective advertising avenues. The Internet and people who believed in my dream have made it possible.

So here we are, at ArtisansMarket.com, where people everywhere can learn about art and buy fine crafts and handmade goods – and where a multitude of artists, diverse in styles and working in many different mediums, can sell their work and share what inspires them to create as they do.

The mission of Artisans Market is to promote artists and their crafts by attracting consumers to our site who seek fine, unique arts and crafts. As our online market place continues to grow, I enjoy, every day, meeting new artists and introducing them to the services Artisans Market has to offer. Along with the other members of the Artisans Market Board of Directors and the people who continue to craft, improve and maintain this Website, I am thrilled to get feedback from member artists who feel they have found the right ‘place’ to build their online studio, and I love hearing from people who have found “just the perfect thing” at artisansmarket.com for a wedding, a birthday, a remodel or something that, at last, completed a collection of items precious to its owner.

I would like to thank my fellow investors, friends, family members and supporters for believing not only in the vision of Artisans Market, but also in my ability to take the steps necessary to reach our goals. Your insight and suggestions for building this online market place, dedicated to the unknown craftspeople of the world who bring forth good energy to the lives of others, has been essential to our success. Without your willingness to provide necessary funds and to commit time to this project, artisansmarket.com would have not been born so quickly or with so much to offer.

I must thank my daughters, Aubrey and Jamie, who take up the slack at home as I pound out my new ideas, develop crazy kitchen concoctions and do my bead work. Thanks go also to Amy, my office assistant. She has the world’s worst job but loves it anyway.

There are so many people who continue to join with Artisans Market to make it the very special place in Cyberspace that it is. Thanks to all of them.

Last on my thank-you list but first in my heart is my husband and best friend Craig, an awesome craftsman himself, who backs me no matter how crazy or costly the idea is. How he lives with me day by day is a wonder and blessing. He must do it for love of art because it sure isn’t my housekeeping!
