This Jewelry box combines Canarywood and Spalted Birch with very striking results. Canarywood comes from Central and South America. Spalting is a process of decay that sets in as a tree dies. Caught at the right time, each piece carries unique patterns. The box itself is approximately 13" wide, 8" deep and 5 1/2" high. Its lower compartment has removeable dividers, and above that are two half-width sliding trays. The top tray ring storage. The lining is red velvet, and the finish lacquer. Hinges are solid milled brass with built-in stops.
