The gourds are cut and cleaned, then finished with a furniture polish to maintain and enhance the natural finish of the gourd. The gourds are not dyed. The natural colors and textures of the gourd is used to enhance the weaving. The gourd baskets are woven in a coiled fashion using waxed linen as the coiling thread. This gourd has turquoise and coral gemstones.
