Growing up in Southern California, Nonny was surrounded by an extremely artistic family, from painters to designers who encouraged her to express herself through art. Painting and drawing being her first love, her inspiration to create jewelry was sparked by her mother's antique Watermelon Tourmaline necklace. As a child she was fasinated by the gemstones beautiful mixture of pink and green hues.

Portions of Negeen Designs profits are donated to brain tumor and brain cancer research in honor of her son who in 2007 at the age of three survived a brain tumor.
