BASKET - "LIFE FORM"
This 14" diameter, 6" high piece was hand-woven with African-Native American traditional coil in contemporary form. The basket is set off by a piece of natural river rock found in Oak Creek near Sedona, AZ. |

This basket was hand-woven by Raina using traditional coil techniques learned from working with Native American weavers. This basket is 11-1/2" in diameter and 5-1/2" high; the form is contemporary and set off by three polished wood beads. |

Attached to the inside rim are a piece of deer antler, symbolic of the swift passing of life and a "bundle" attached consisting of desert river rock, rafia, deer bone and fabric scroll which altogether honor the ancestors. |
